RN-Registered Nurse Lead Preceptor - Cardiology Unit - Full-Time, Nights - Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Warren Campus - Warren, MI

Unit Description: Are you looking for a great opportunity to grow? 7 West is a fast-paced Cardiology Unit that specializes in Cardiac Arrhythmia. Staff are ACLS trained, and proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and treatment with vasoactive medications. At Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Warren Campus, we encourage self-care by offering employee self-scheduling, team orientated decision making and opportunities for growth within the nursing profession. Currently developing a unit based shared governance group to participate in decisions about delivery of patient care. We have also implemented new communication and telemetry technology including state of the art smart devices for communication between caregivers and bedside monitoring equipment that interfaces with the electronic medical record.

Scheduled Hours: Full-time Night Position / 12 hour shifts per week from 7:00PM through 7:30AM / Every other weekend and rotating holidays.

What You Will Do

As an Associate with Ascension Michigan, you will have the opportunity to provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Diploma

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required

Work Experience:

  • None required.

  • At least one year nursing experience preferred.
