Mgr Central Sterile Svc Req #: 30117011 Category: Leadership (Mgr and above) Facility: Beaumont Hospital Trenton Department: Central Sterile Processing Schedule: Full time Shift: DaysHours: 7a-330p#160; Job Details:GENERAL SUMMARY: Plans, organizes and directs the operations of the Central Sterile Processing Department in accordance with Federal, State and Local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern decontamination, sterilization and distribution of instrumentation, case cart assembly, patient implants/equipment, outside services and specialty supplies/instruments required for Surgical Services, Clinical Nursing Areas and Hospital Clinics.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:* Plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Central Sterile Processing department. Responsible for departmental operations of these areas 24/7.* Directs the staff of Central Sterile Processing in the decontamination, processing and sterilization of instruments, and assembly of case carts.#160; Works with the Manager of Surgical Materiel Management in the acquisition of implants, instruments, outside services and specialty supplies/instruments required for Surgical Services and other Nursing/Clinical Specialty areas.* Develops and maintains departmental policies and procedures consistent with regulatory agencies, and implements revisions as necessary to ensure optimal patient care and cost effective departmental operations.* Develops annual departmental budget and ensures adherence of it.#160; Reviews monthly financial statements and submits monthly variance reports.* Develops and maintains statistical reports to measure quantity, quality and timeliness of work performed by Central Sterile Processing staff.#160; Reviews and evaluates department's performance and takes corrective action or recommends changes if necessary.* Conducts department meetings on a monthly basis, or as required, on all shifts to disseminate information and seek employee input.#160; Emphasizes maintaining a professional and courteous relationship with all customers and reinforces Service Excellence.#160; Records and maintains minutes of all meetings.* Interviews, selects, trains and schedules Central Sterile Processing staff.#160; Determines job objectives, expectations, work methods and performance standards.#160; Conducts employee feedback sessions/reviews and, as necessary, authoritatively recommends the discipline of Central Sterile Processing staff.* Develops annual departmental goals in concert with the Hospital's operating principles and operating imperatives.#160; Review status on monthly basis to ensure adherence and submit quarterly status report.* Initiates purchase requests for supplies and equipment in order to meet the operational requirements of the department and to appropriately provide patient care.* Routinely inspects the department to ensure that established standards, policies and procedures are attained in order to provide patient and employee safety.#160; Actively participates in quality assessment activities.* Maintains active communication between external customers (Surgical Services, Nursing, Surgeons, etc.) and Central Sterile Processing.#160; Ensures quality services, customer satisfaction, issue resolution and Central Sterile Processing staff competency.* Maintains clinical and supervisory competency by participating in departmental operations and continuing education.* Develops schedules and conducts in-services training classes, on-the-job training and orientation programs for Central Sterile Processing staff and conducts annual tests to ensure staff competency.* Serves as a member on various hospital committees and tasks force.* Ensures customer service and performance standards are established and maintained in her/his ar
