General Summary: The position reports to the AdministrativeDirector, and is responsible for all Surgical Services which includes thefollowing areas: General OR, 6 rooms, cysto and endoscopy room, attachedAmbulatory Surgery Center, 4 ORs and 2 endoscopy rooms, Peri-anesthesia area -PAS (Preadmission Services, POHA (Pre-op Holding Area), and PACU (PostoperativeAnesthesia Care Unit), Anesthesia, OR Scheduling and CSP (Central SterileProcessing). It includes the management and leadership of personnel, clinicalpractice, research and data management, education and budget. The positionmaintains 24 hour responsibility and accountability and promotes qualitypatient care, cost effectiveness and professional growth for self and staff.Assists the Administrator in the development of a collaborative managementsystem, long-term planning, and maintenance of Professional/Technical standardsof care.Essential Duties: 1. Quality and Safety a"sits on and/or supports all initiatives of the Quality and Safety Committee.Responsible for ensuring a positive culture of safety. Participates in alldepartmental process improvements and serious safety event action planning.2. PatientExperience a" sits on and/or supports all initiatives of the Patient Experienceand Innovation Committee. Ensures a positive experience for all customersincluding, but not limited to patients, families, visitors, surgeons, staff andvendors. Supports all Patient Family Centered Care/Moonshot initiatives.3. Financeand Growth a" sits on and/or supports all initiatives of the Finance, Operationsand Strategic Growth Committees. Participates in and supports VAT initiatives.Fiscally responsible for team performance, development and oversight of capitaland expense budgets. Manages productivity measures effectively. Works directlywith Operating Room Clinical Director to ensure safe and efficient operations.4. RegulatoryCompliance a" follows AORN, ASPAN, SGNA, AAMI, TJC and Magnet standards.5. EffectiveEngagement Skills a" performs daily rounding interacting with staff, surgeons,patients, families and visitors. Directs recruitment, screening, hiring,performance plans and terminations. Coaches, mentors and facilitates team toachieve targets of success. Works with multiple team members with diversebackgrounds and experience to align around Mission and goals of theorganization. Skilled with managing conflict effectively.6. Leadershipa" demonstrates support for the Mission and goals of the organization in speechand actions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confidentpresentation skills to address at staff and executive level. Effective problem-solvingskills, crucial conversation experience and intrinsic coaching abilityessential.
