SUMMARY: Responsible to facilitate daily staffing coverage to insure customer service needs are met. Assists Revenue Cycle leadership to achieve departmental and organizational goals. Monitors quality for continued job specific education and process improvement opportunities.
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration or Business related field. In lieu of a degree consideration will be given to a candidate with 5 years significant, relevant revenue cycle experience.
Successful completion of Medical Terminology course is required
Two years revenue cycle experience specific to discipline
Advanced systems aptitude. Proficiency with MHC’s automated information systems preferred.
Proven ability to communicate effectively/accurately both verbally and in writing required.
Must be able to work independently and prioritize projects and timelines within a flexible schedule. Problem solving is a major component of the job.
Able to operate under frequent stressful conditions due to constantly changing requirements in health care. Understands the process of change and how it affects human behavior.
Knowledge of hospital organization and function(s) preferred.
Experience in the management of people preferred.
This position is under the general supervision of the Manager of respective revenue cycle department. This position is accountable for coordinating and facilitating the activities of the revenue cycle at all sites.
Department, team and individual goals guide daily work. Responsible to motivate employees, educate and communicate ideas, to assure achievement of said goals. Must maintain a working relationship with all ancillary departments, physician offices, and their staffs. Works closely with other areas of the financial division to assure excellent billing of accounts. May assume additional departmental responsibility in the absence of the Manager. SPECIFIC DUTIES: 1. Works interdepartmentally with management support to solve process issues. 22. Determines most effective means of dealing with patients/family, physicians and visitors with varying attitudes and problems. 23. Assists with resolution of inter- and intra- departmental issues. 24. Facilitates and organizes daily staffing coverage and workflow for respective areas of responsibility, including preparation of a monthly work schedule.
25. Reviews bi-weekly payroll time cards, maintains assorted attendance and overtime records and presents to management in a timely manner for signature and processing. 26. Develops agenda and conducts staff meetings, covering all required topics. Maintains attendance and minutes for meetings and assures communication of minutes and follow through on action assignments. 27. Facilitates interviewing and hiring for available positions. 28. Works closely with other areas of the financial division to assure excellent billing of accounts. 29. Works with other office coordinators to plan and facilitate departmental projects and meetings. 30. Works on-call as directed by department management. 31. May assume additional departmental responsibility in the absence of the Manager 32. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
