Munson Healthcare is looking for a Clinical Nursing Recruiter!

Munson Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic nursing professional to join our organization as a Clinical Nursing Recruiter to support Munson Medical Center. As the Clinical Nursing Recruiter you will oversee the organization’s nursing recruitment and retention plans and attract patient-focused, quality-minded nursing professionals to northern Michigan. By collaborating with nursing leaders and developing recruitment and retention programs, you will have an exciting opportunity to impact organizational culture. The Talent Acquisition team is a collaborative group of professionals that strive to enhance recruitment practices for the Munson Healthcare system.



• Current Registered Nurse licensure within the State of Michigan

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing

• Five years of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting

• Excellent interpersonal skills and written/verbal communication skills

• Skilled with the use of Microsoft Office, including Excel and spreadsheet management


• Experience in recruitment or human resources

• Experience in leading projects or initiatives

• Involvement on organizational committees or initiatives


Matrix reporting to the Director of Nursing Practice and Professional Development and System Director Talent Acquisition.

Has contact with administration, physicians, other health care professionals, and Munson Medical Center staff at all levels.

  1. Supports the mission statement of Munson Medical Center (MMC): Munson Medical Center is the core of a regional health system. In partnership with physicians, we provide quality, compassionate, comprehensive and cost-effective services for improvement of the health of our patients and the communities we serve.

  2. Actively involved in strategic planning and execution of initiatives for the recruitment and retention of nursing staff. Routinely monitors status of RN recruitment and retention, efficacy of programs, ROI, and proposes adjustments and modifications to strategy.

  3. Responsible for the creation, development, and execution of new and existing RN recruitment initiatives.

  4. Provides updates and reports to a variety of key stakeholders, including: CNO, Nursing Operations Council, and Staff Engagement Recruitment & Retention Committee.

  5. Collaborates regularly with nursing leaders to identify specific recruitment needs, understand departmental opportunities, and support department specific retention strategies.

  6. Builds productive and collaborative relationships with colleges and universities, with involvement in recruitment and clinical placements.

  7. Sources highly qualified nursing candidates to meet customer requirements by networking and relationship building.

  8. Plans, coordinates and participates in system-wide nursing recruiting events and initiatives, including open houses, job fairs and nursing school career days.

  9. Assists in the development of workforce strategies which include internal and external research and data analysis to identify drivers around RN recruitment and retention.

  10. Monitor and report recruitment, retention, turnover, and other key data in aggregate and by department.

  11. Performs full cycle recruitment processes in alignment with departmental expectations and maintains professional and prompt communication with all parties.

  12. Informs marketing and advertising needs to partner with corporate communications to advance short and long-term strategy around RN recruitment.

  13. Assists in nursing student experiences by supporting clinical rotations and arranging preceptorships.

  14. Provides strategic insight and guidance on RN recruitment to Munson Healthcare affiliates.

  15. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
