Munson Medical Center Allied Health Educator II in Traverse City, Michigan

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in health care education or a related field required.

  • One year of formal classroom experience as an adult educator is recommended.

  • Experience in the development and coordination of educational programs is recommended.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate accurately and effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Prior education or experience must indicate compatibility with others and ability to develop ideas and plans.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Windows, PowerPoint and Word.

  • Experience planning, developing and creating computer-based training using e-learning authoring tools preferred.

  • Creative ability to develop class agendas and materials and to present them in innovative and interesting ways.

  • Experience in designing, writing and implementing department procedures.

  • Background in safety regulations desirable

  • Knowledge of database management systems preferred.

  • May be required to lift more than 35 pounds.

ORGANIZATION

Works under the Sr. Coordinator for Talent and Organizational Development.

Consults with and receives requests for in-service activities from management staff, members of various hospital committees, and others.

Works in conjunction with and shares duties and responsibilities with other health care educators. As a member of a team, keeps other team members informed. Finds opportunities to share specialized knowledge and add value to the team.

Reviews e-learning courses created by others and recommends improvements where needed to ensure authored courses adhere to Munson’s course authoring standards.

Maintains the quality of educational programs being delivered.

Maintains own professional/personal growth.

Reviews and updates departmental policy and procedures as needed.

Serves as a consultant in the development of educational programs or service for departments (clinical or non-clinical) as requested within Munson Healthcare.

Plans and conducts and/or coordinates training programs as needed.

Utilizes systems methodology and Performance Improvement concepts for all phases of assigned work. Works to improve all processes continuously. Incorporates MHC Mission Statement into assigned projects and activities as appropriate.

Estimates training needs, costs, and potential savings to assist in annual budgeting process.

Recommends material, supplies, and equipment to meet educational and project needs.

Develops all levels of curriculum design and implementation. Prepares and modifies written lesson plans.

Assesses effectiveness of instruction, and evaluates educational activities to determine if objectives were met.

Prepares and uses audiovisual material effectively.

Applies knowledge of learning concepts to develop educational activities for the organization.

Develops and creates interactive courses for e-learning to provide staff with convenient access to self-paced education.

Coordinates critical reviews of regulatory course content and assessments and implements changes where needed.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
