My Community Dental Centers Inc Front Desk in St. Johns, Michigan

Position Summary

The Front Desk acts as a liaison between the staff, patients, and insurance companies and is responsible for administrative functions, handling patient grievances, and coordinating the overall flow of the office. The Front Desk helps promote a safe, pleasant, and harmonious environment for staff, doctor, and patient.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Presentation of treatment plan and financial plans.

  • Review account receivables.

  • Submit necessary pre-determination.

  • Present MCDP/NDP when appropriate.

  • Initiate DAF requests with patient.

  • Oversee patient billing.

  • Greet patients on the telephone and in person.

  • Schedule and confirm appointments.

  • Check treatment cards and confirm that all appropriate information is included.

  • Review charges with patient and collect payments.

  • Assist in controlling inventory of front desk supplies.

  • Maintain re-care system.

  • Provide outstanding customer service and maintain positive relationships with staff.

  • Provide accurate and timely information, verbally and/or written, to the dentists, MCDC office and senior management as requested.

  • Perform administrative duties during staff absences.

  • Process mail.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Computer skills i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Dentrix, and Internet.

  • Ability to operate office equipment i.e. calculator, fax, copier, scanner, credit card terminal, multiple phone lines.

  • Strong problem solving and presentation skills.

  • Leadership skills i.e. professionalism, discretion, integrity, honesty, and dedication.

Job Specification

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Dental experience preferred.

  • Insurance verification experience preferred.
