Description:

Coordinates total nursing care for patients of all ages, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The Registered Nurse is seen as a role model for exhibiting the Behavioral Standards and Customer Service expectations of War Memorial Hospital.

Job Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Currently licensed by the Board of Licensing and Regulation in the State of

Michigan as a Registered Nurse, and provides documentation of same.

1. BCLS required.

2. NRP required within twelve (12) months from date of hire. For RN’s currently working in the ER Department: NRP is required by February 3, 2018.

3. Cross trained to the specialty area as a C1 or C2 is required.

4. Must keep patients safe.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:

1. CEN recommended.

2. TNCC required within one year of employment in Emergency Room.

3. HAZMAT Awareness Training within six months of employment in Emergency Department.

4. ACLS current preferred, required within six months of employment in Emergency Department.

5. PALS current preferred, required within six months of employment in Emergency Department.

6. Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG course – post graduation required within one year of employment in Emergency Department.

7. Acute care nursing; one year experience in the capacity of RN, Grad Nurse, or Nurse Intern required.
