CMU Medical Education Partners Hospitalist - Advanced Practice Provider in Saginaw, Michigan
The Hospitalist APP will be involved in a variety of patient care activities, conducted under the supervision of designated attending faculty, and in close collaboration with the residents of the Internal Medicine residency program (as applicable).

Performs new medical admissions/consults primarily, average about 6 per day
Providing continuous inpatient coverage on the units and in observation
Records physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient’s condition
Discusses case as needed with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan
Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by Physician
Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
Refers patients to appropriate consultants or to specialized health resources for treatment
Responds to nursing and medical staff queries and pages concerning patient needs Performs, maintains BLS certification
Excellent on-site physician support and exhibits organizational communication and leadership skills, accountability, judgment and decision making
Provides general health education regarding matters such as proper diet and exercise, emotional health, and health maintenance
Assists with rounding and discharges occasionally
Covers rapid response calls
Procedures not required
Clinic Environment, requiring delivery of patient care (physical dexterity), application of bio- hazard material handling, minimal lifting (not greater than 10 pounds), extensive computer usage (eye strain).
Expected Hours of Work: Monday through Friday 2pm – 10pm, with potential weekend coverage
Board certified, or board eligible, APP with advanced graduate medical education and training in internal medicine
National certification from American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Existing unrestricted license to practice in Michigan, or able to be licensed in Michigan
Current ACLS and PALS certification, or planned attainment of same
Excellent practice history, ability to be insured for liability purposes
Minimum 1 Year experience in hospital medicine required
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records and computers preferred
