div divJob Summary:Under general direction, performs a variety of laboratory and clinical diagnostic procedures including cardiac electro-physiologic studies, EEG's, Cardiac and Vascular Ultrasound examinations including Cardiac Doppler.Essential Job Duties:ullidivPerforms Echocardiographic procedures in a timely manner; documents required information and communicates to primary physician and direct care staff pertinent information./div/lilidivCoordinates and assists the care of patients assigned in collaboration with radiology techs, physicians, nurses and allied health staff./div/lilidivEvaluates patient condition in order to adequately perform Echocardiographic exam for best outcome of patient./div/lilidivInforms and explains procedure to be performed and what is expected./div/lilidivProvides comprehensive direct patient care and assures a safe and comforting environment./div/lilidivConsults with other staff as necessary to meet the needs of the patient and family./div/lilidivParticipates in the Quality Improvement and utilization review programs per ICAEL requirements./div/lilidivAssumes a leader role in the maintenance of the patient-focused care delivery system./div/lilidivAssists co-workers within the organization to ensure that the best patient-focused care is delivered./div/lilidivOther duties as assigned. /div/li/ulStandard Qualifications:ullidivHigh School Graduate or Equivalent. Graduate of an AMA approved Cardiovascular Diagnostic program, or equivalent./div/lilidivSix months of experience as an ECHO technician, preferred./div/lilidivRegistered Sonographer from CCI or ARDMS required./div/lilidivKnowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart.
