div **Potential sign on bonus available! $5,000 for Full-Time and $2,500 for Part-Time Surgical Techs** spanGENERAL SUMMARY: /spanspan/spanspanSurgical technologists work under the supervision and delegatory authority of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical technologists are experts in the theory and application of the principles of asepsis and sterile technique to combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation and tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. The surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field./spanspan/spanspan/spanspanESSENTIAL DUTIES:span /spanspan/span/spanspan/spanol type="1"li class="MsoNormal"spanPrepares and anticipates instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for usage during the procedure./span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanSets up the sterile back table and Mayo stand with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure./span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanPerforms initial instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the circulator./span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanParticipates in the surgical site and patient verification during the briefing process./span/li/olspan/spanol type="1" start="5"li class="MsoNormal"spanAssists with draping the patient and establishing the sterile field./span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanAnticipates the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedure./span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanMaintains highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure./span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanPrepares and passes off specimen(s) as appropriate/span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanCleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization./span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanAssists other members of the team with cleaning the operating room to facilitate turn overs./span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanParticipates in debriefing and quality improvement practices to ensure quality patient care./span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanAssists in the development of a proper learning environment in relation to orientation and education of personnel and students./span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanPerforms other duties as assigned./span/li/olspan/spanspanSTANDARD QUALIFICATIONS/spanspan/spanspanTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.span /spanThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.span /spanReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties./spanspan/span
