div spanbspanGENERAL SUMMARY:/span/bspan/spanspanThe staff Radiologic OR Technologist is specially trained to work in the Operating Room using mobile fluoroscopic equipment. Technologists must operate equipment within a sterile environment to assist in surgical procedures accurately and efficiently. They must demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and image evaluation to obtain specialized and/or non-standard views of patient anatomy for surgical procedures with minimal direction./spanspan Follows Beaumont philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times. /spanspan/spanspan/spanspan/spanbspanESSENTIAL DUTIES:/span/bspan /spanspanspan/span/spanullidivspanPerforms quality diagnostic exams after verification of patient identification and physician order./span/divlidivspan/spanspanProficiently operates diagnostic imaging equipment within the operating suite./span/divlidivspan/spanspanMust be cognizant of the sterile field at all times, including keeping the imaging equipment sterile with movement required for the surgical procedure./span/divlidivspan/spanspanMust be intuitive, anticipating the needs of the surgeon to help reduce surgical times./span/divlidivspan/spanspanMust assist the surgeon in vital decision-making processes, such as but not limited to the positioning of surgical markers to verify spinal levels and to adjust imaging equipment according to the needs of the surgeon./span/divlidivspan/spanspanUses ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, staff in the OR room and self./span/divlidivspan/spanspanMonitors patients during procedures to ensure patient safety./span/divlidivspan/spanspanContributes to the effective operations of the department by assisting fellow employees and staying in compliance with quality assurance and quality control./span/divlidivspan/spanspanAbility to accurately and efficiently use hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules and sending information to PACS./span/divlidivspan/spanspanAssists in the training of students/new hires./span/divlidivspan/spanspanEnsures equipment is wiped down between patients./span/divlidivspan/spanspanspanspan/span/span/spanspanMaintains competency in all assigned areas including fluoroscopic, general diagnostic, orthopedic and operating procedures./span/divlidivspan/spanspanEffectively communicates on an inter/intra-departmental level with customer service, administrative, medical staff, and peers./span/div/li/ulbspanSTANDARD QUALIFICATIONS/span/bspan/spanspanspan A*span /span/span/spanspanGraduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program./spanspan/spanspanspan A*span /span/span/spanspanTraining gained at student level./spanspan/spanspanspan A*span /span/span/spanspanCertification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Must
