div divdivspanspanbspanspanGeneral Summary: /span/span/b/span/span spanspanspanspanThe Senior Staff Physical Therapist works closely with the Supervisor to mentor therapist to achieve clinical excellence. Assists the supervisor in the clinical management of the Physical and Occupational Therapy Team, the Sr. Staff Physical Therapist (PT) monitors staff performance, environment of care, staff education, the quality of therapy services, and financial expectations. Additionally, from a patient care perspective, the senior physical therapist is responsible for examining, evaluating and developing a treatment plan for patients with functional limitations and disabilities. PT's provide consultation to healthcare providers regarding a patient's continuum of care. The individual in this position is required to appropriately interact with all patients regardless of age or culture and to adhere to the Beaumont customer service standards. /span/span/span/span spanspanbspanspanEssential Duties:/span/span/b /span/span ullispanspanspanspan Direct patient care: Provides a Physical Therapy evaluation, incorporating Patient treatment: evaluates, interprets findings; develops treatment and discharge plans; implements treatment, re-evaluates, educates patients and significant others; meets productivity /span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanDocuments: evaluation results, treatment and discharge plans and daily treatment according to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and professional standards of documentation; submits charges for services provided./span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanMaintains verbal, written and electronic communication and collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team, referral sources, physicians, and 3rd party payors./span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanAssists the Supervisor to monitor staff competence, clinical performance, organize in-services, and support staff education to mentor, monitor and improve clinical competency./span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanMonitors treatment cost and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency. Monitors productivity on a continuous basis. Assists with PI projects/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanAssists the supervisor with hiring, orienting, delegating and organizing the work of staff and provide feedback on performance appraisals/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanDirectly monitors and supports the clinic's technical aide coverage and activities/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanParticipates in leadership functions: community outreach, CQI, marketing, cost containment, program development, PTA/AT/aide/student supervision; teaches staff, physicians and others./span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanProfessional development: Attends staff meetings; maintains and improves competence through self-study, attending in-services and continuing education programs.
