div bspanGENERAL SUMMARY: /span/bspanUnder the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department. /spanspanUNIT SUMMARY:/spanspanspanThis is a new 33 bed unit for medical and surgical patients who could be higher acuityrogressive level care, known as an acuity adaptable unit.span /spanIt is created using PFCC principles to care for patients and their families through the continuum of their hospital stay. This unit is the perfect opportunity for seasoned and new graduate nurses, as you will have the opportunity to create your own shared governance model within the unit and be instrumental in helping to set the culture!/span/spanbspanESSENTIAL DUTIES: /span/bspanspanspan /span/span/spanspanAssists the nurse manager and divisional director in development, implementation and evaluation of ongoing service programs which assure quality nursing, and patient care programs consistent with the hospital mission. /spanspanspanspan /span/span/spanspanAssists the nurse manager to monitor/maintain unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy for patient services, and environmental and personnel safety. /spanspanspanspan /span/span/spanspanMaintains current license and knowledge of nursing care requirements for all patients on the unit. Assesses need for personal growth and development and takes the initiative in seeking opportunities to meet this need. /spanspanspanspan /span/span/spanspanAccurately identifies realotential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication. /spanspanspanspan /span/span/spanspanCollaborates with the nurse manager to a service that is consistent with the patient care beliefs and shared management philosophy of the department. /spanspanspanspan /span/span/spanspanConsults with patients/families through primary nurse request, direct family request and/or direct assessment of patient/family response to hospitalization.
