Beaumont Health APP PA C in Royal Oak, Michigan
The Physician Assistant will perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and assist in providing health care to surgical patients. Reports directly to the Chief Physician Extender for all non-patient administrative responsibilities. Reports directly to the Attending Surgeons for all patient care related functions.
? Assist the surgeon in the perioperative care of patients.
? Assist the surgeon in surgical procedures. The PA may perform bedside procedures as directed by the surgeon.
? Assist the surgeon in care of postoperative patients.
? Participate in meetings, educational programs, review of patient records, clinical research, and other elected projects.
A. Education / Training:
? A graduate of an AMA recognized PA training program that is accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission or Education for Physician Assistant (ACR-PA) and meet the requirements of the state.
B. Work Experience:
? Minimum of 2 years surgical experience as first assist in OR, required
C. Certification, Licensure, Registration:
? Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and certification as a Physician Assistant by the State of Michigan.
? AHA BLS certification required
D. Other Qualifications:
? Effective written and oral communication skills.
? Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients in situations requiring sensitivity and tact.
? Demonstrates strong health assessment skills.
This position will rotate on call schedule and holidays as assigned
