Description
PositionSummary: Provides distributive pharmacy services and technical
support for the pharmacist. Under the
direction and final check of a licensed pharmacist prepares, packages and
labels IV and unit dose interim and maintenance medications according to
prescriber orders and to established policies and procedures.
EssentialFunctions and Responsibilities :
Setsup, organizes and maintains work area.
Assistspharmacists, and under their direction, performs duties such as, but notlimited to, filling containers, preparing and affixing labels,prepackaging pharmaceuticals, maintaining records, and stocking supplies.
Performspharmacy computer functions as required.
Preparesand labels IVs, hyperalimentation solutions, chemotherapy agents, andother pharmaceutical products.
Respondsto patient admission, transfer, discharge, discontinued medicationnotices, and processes physician orders, according to establishedprocedure.
Assistsin performing recordkeeping, billing and accounting functions, including, butnot limited to, verifying remittances, corresponding with third partyprescription payors, entering charges and payments, making adjustments,posting charges and printing statements.
Assistsin ordering, receiving, inspecting and adjusting stock.
Maintainsfloor stock, crash carts and nursing station inspection reports.
Assistsin training pharmacy personnel.
Participatesin performance improvement activities.

of the population served according to department standards, as evidenced by
observation, documentation, and peer feedback.

(X) Geriatric - 65 years and older
- Performs other related duties as required and directed.

- Responsiblefor all Pharmacy Technician I duties as well as routinely assigned specialtasks, responsibilities and projects as directed and assigned bydiscretion of pharmacy supervisor or the Director of Pharmacy.
PharmacyTechnician I Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid state Temporary, Limited, or Full PharmacyTechnician License; if current candidate has a state Temporary PharmacyTechnician License, a valid state Full PharmacyTechnician License must be obtained within 365 days of issuance.
Preferred:
Computer experience.
Previous pharmacy experience or courses in pharmacycurriculum.
PharmacyTechnician II Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid state Limited, or FullPharmacy Technician License.
Two years of experience as a pharmacytechnician.
Preferred:
Computer experience.
