Description
The Nurse Manager - Med Surg assumes 24/7 responsiblility for planning, directing, implementing, evaluating and improving all clinical and administrative services associated with quality of care, financial stewardship, recruitment and retention, and customer service in the Med Surg unit. The Nurse Manager has the responsibility for implementing the vision, mission, plans, values and standards of the organization.
Manages direct patient care processes:
Assures pathways and clinical documentation are used appropriately such that departmental length of stay is within expected parameters.
Monitors patient assignments and care team functions to ensure that care is coordinated and collaborative.
Clinical experience and expertise that facilitates appropriate evaluation and support of staff activities.
Demonstrates competence to participate in interdisciplinary formulation of patient treatment plans
Participates in direct patient care as needed
Qualifications
Required:
BSN
RN licensure
2 years progressive management experience
3 years clinical experience in Med Surg Setting
Preferred:
MSN
