Dept: MAC Intensive Care UnitTRAINING POSITION
Hours per pay period: 72 Hours
Schedule: 7:00pm - 7:30am
Position Summary:
The
Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the
nursing process. Works collaboratively
with other members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for
professional nursing practice. Carries
out functions according to hospital policy, the hospital mission, and standards
of practice defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. Directs,
coordinates and delegates activities in order to foster patient / family
centered care.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Assesses the physical, psychosocial, andeducational needs of the patient.
Plans and implements nursing care according topatient and family needs.
Makes appropriate interventions based uponindividual patient needs.
Evaluates patient responses to nursinginterventions.
Assumes personal responsibility for qualitypatient care, patient satisfaction, environment and professional development.
Qualifications
Required:
Associatesor Bachelors degree. Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
CurrentState of Michigan Registered Nurse license
Oneyear of ICU experience
BLScard from AHA required before start date (valid at least 60 days beyond startdate)
ACLScertification (required by end of unit orientation)
Preferred:
Twoyears of ICU experience
TCARcertified (or within six months of hire)
Experiencewith care of the immediate post op
Openheart trained
CABGor Neuro trained
Weekend/Holiday Requirements:
Selected
candidate will be required to work weekends 2 & 4 of the 28-day schedule,
as well as the Holiday B rotation.
