Reporting to the Regional Market Leader/Hospital President, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the Hospital Executive Leadership team who actively partners with the Chief Nursing Officer to organize, direct, evaluate and integrate the delivery of patient care and clinical services. In collaboration with System leadership, the COO has the authority and accountability for delivery of services by assigned departments including support of community strategies designed to integrate interventions across the healthcare continuum. Through collaboration with clinical, system and physician leadership strives for seamlessness and efficiency in delivering care. The COO contributes to site, regional and corporate initiatives, by addressing complex problems that affect our patients/consumers and works to resolve with innovative solutions. Key activities include best practice delivery, program planning, revenue generation, operational analysis, financial analysis, problem resolution, personnel management, and performance improvement. Serves as site lead in the absence of the Regional Market Leader/Hospital President.
Education - Bachelor's Degree in business administration, healthcare administration (or equivalent education and experience) Master's Degree in business administration, healthcare administration (or equivalent education and experience)
Experience - 3 years of relevant experience in of progressive healthcare management experience in Leadership in a multi-specialty physician practice, hospital or integrated delivery system 5 years of relevant experience in in a leadership role managing multiple sites / lines of business Experience managing large, cross functional teams or projects, influencing management and key stakeholders (preferably in a business or healthcare organization comparable in size and complexity to Spectrum Health and the system as a whole)
