Position Summary:

The Nursing Administrative Supervisor ensures that quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Michigan Nurse Practice Act, the hospital and nursing departmental standards. The Nursing Administrative Supervisor assumes responsibility

and accountability for the total nursing units and activities during the assigned shift. The Nursing Administrative Supervisor assists the Nurse Managers' with the overall management of the operational, personnel and financial goals of the nursing units. Provides

overall coordination, supervision and problem solving for nursing staff and ancillary departments as necessary. Participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment. Maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality and respects patient rights.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of approved school of nursing

  • Licensed by State of Michigan

  • BCLS certified

  • Minimum 1 year previous experience as Charge Nurse

  • Minimum 3 years previous experience as Staff Registered Nurse

  • ACLS within 1 year of hire

  • TNCC or ATCN within 18 months of hire

  • Possesses excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate and present self to patient, visitors, other staff and physicians verbally and in writing in courteous, confident and professional manner

Preferred:

  • 6 months experience as a Relief Nursing Supervisor

  • BCLS Instructor certification

  • ACLS certification

  • BSN
