Job Description:

Staff positions are supportive roles providing support to our rehabilitation mission. Applicants for staff positions do not need to have a barrier to employment to be eligible for these roles.

Peckham Inc. - Temporary COVID Screener

SUMMARY

Temporary COVID Screeners are responsible for serving as a gate-keeper at the facility point of entry and facilitating the COVID Screening process to ensure the ongoing safety of employees. This position has been developed to assist Peckham in performing on-site medical screening specifically for COVID-19 as a means of prevention of spread within the facilities.

*This is a temporary position that may last 6-8 months.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct required COVID screens for constituents at the facility point of entry with verbal questions.

  • Facilitate the health questionnaire and document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records

  • If building visitor answers "yes" to any questions or has a fever, will coordinate with departments and regarding next steps.

  • Screens entrants by taking their temperature.

  • Documents screening outcomes as required.

  • Provides all employees and visitors with appropriate facemasks, as necessary.

  • Provides COVID informational directions and escorts visitors, as necessary.

  • Protect privacy and dignity by keeping health information confidential; comply with privacy guidelines and related laws.

  • Distribute and ensure proper hand sanitization at the point of entry and sanitization of screening station and surrounding area.

  • Monitor screening station(s) supplies and restock as necessary.

  • Report adverse findings within the established communication chain.

  • Adhere to established infection control and customer service protocols.

  • Facilitate positive outcomes in a team environment.

  • Adhere to professional standards, company policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local requirements.

  • Assist Residents with minor needs.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain safe and clean work environment

  • Promote Peckham’s vision values and services to all customers and stakeholders

  • Assist in maintaining organizational wide quality standards

  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position does not have any supervisory duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to write and speak the English language.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Must have satisfactorily completed the COVID-19 questionnaire and have no adverse changes to the conditions stated therein.

  • Must clear facility based COVID testing and demonstrate a strong commitment to local stay at home orders and social distancing recommendations.

  • Must have strong commitment and adherence to standard precaution infection control protocols.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Must clear facility based COVID testing and demonstrate a strong commitment to state and local public health directives and social distancing recommendations.

  • Ability to deal effectively with the public, other agencies, and co-workers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Medical/patient care/healthcare industry experience.

  • Multilingual abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Up to 100% of the time is spent talking, hearing, and handling objects. Activities done the majority of the time include walking, sitting, using far and near vision. Management's assignment of essential functions is not designed to limit the manner in which duties may be accomplished. ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

This position is 100% of time is spent indoors and will involve contact with other workers and the general public. This is a public service position. Employees are required to be courteous, cooperative and respectful at all times with the public and clients. This includes establishing and maintaining courteous, cooperative and respectful working relationships with other employees, supervisors and public officials.
