Job Summary and Description

Adjunct (part-time) faculty to teach in Music focusing on Studio Instruction. Instrumentalists and vocalists will be considered dependent on departmental needs. Participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and shared governance of the College. Participate in student assessment initiatives within the program and college, and implement the determinations of those initiatives. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Associate's Degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) in Music, Music Theory or similar with a minimum of 3 years teaching experience and demonstrated proficiency with specific instrument(ation).

  • Alternative Qualification:5 years teaching experience or professional experience and demonstrated proficiency with specific instrument(ation).

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) in Music.

  • Experience teaching at a college level (may include graduate teaching assistant).
