Henry Ford Health System Coordinator, Bariatric Clinic - Full Time/Days - Jackson, MI in Jackson, Michigan
The Metabolic & Bariatric Coordinator functions independently in the inpatient and outpatient settings as a member of the Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery team under the direction, but not always the presence of the Bariatric surgeons. The coordinator will establish and maintain relationships with candidates for weight management and bariatric surgery from the time of the initial inquiry through treatment and/or surgery. This will include preoperative assessment, education, and post-operative care.
Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field that meets the requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. A minimum of 1 year of experience working with surgical patients.
If RN, enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within 3 years of hire. If RN, completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 5 years of hire.
Excellent professional people skills and current knowledge of the media market in the building of a successful specialty medical program.
Ability to problem-solve.
Current licensed Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian.
If RN, certification in Bariatric Nursing is required within 4 years from date of hire.
