Henry Ford Allegiance Health (HFAH) is actively seeking a full-time clinical child and adolescent psychiatrist to work within our dynamic and expanding Behavioral Health Services (BHS). The desired candidate would be open to being an active participant in developing and shaping our interdisciplinary clinical and educational programs across specialty services and levels of care within HFAH BHS; as well as throughout our care continuum, to include across HFAH Primary and Specialty Care services, and the broader community.
The candidate will participate in various on-call activities, to include scheduled weekend rounding on the inpatient unit and provision of attending back-up to residents and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
The successful candidate will serve as a model of professional and scholarly behavior across their clinical, educational and administrative duties. In addition to supervision/mentoring of residents and APPs, candidates will have the opportunity to participate in a broad array of scholarly activities, to include: providing lectures to residents, medical students and interdisciplinary learners; participation in Journal Clubs, Evidence-Based Medicine Seminars, and Grand Rounds; the development/creation of scholarly products; and attendance/participation at pertinent local, state, and national professional organizations/meetings.
HFAH is part of theHenry Ford Health Systems(HFHS -Detroit Area) and is in Jackson, Michigan. HFAH is the only hospital in Jackson County and supports 475-beds through more than 400 physicians and 3,700 staff members; and offers the community a breadth of services, keeping patients and their families from having to travel outside of the community. In addition to Psychiatry, HFAH offers accredited residency training programs in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine and General Surgery.
HFAH Behavioral Health Services provides a broad range of specialty services and levels of care, to include child, adult and geriatric outpatient psychiatry services; a 22-bed Adult Psychiatry and a specialized 10-bed Geriatric Inpatient unit; a hospital-based consult-liaison service; a partial hospitalization program; and a full spectrum of substance use disorder treatment, including inpatient detoxification and residential, as well as both traditional and intensive outpatient and program development & leadership opportunities.
Applicants must be a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy, possess a current license to practice medicine in the State of Michigan, completed an accredited residency in Child Psychiatry, and be board certified or eligible (BE/BC) in Child Psychiatry. Candidates must have shown promise for a career emphasizing clinical care, teaching and/or administration, and a firm commitment to developing superior clinical and teaching skills.
