Aspirus Health BEHAVIORAL HEALTH THERAPIST in Ironwood, Michigan

POSITION OVERVIEW

Aspirus is seeking a THERAPIST for our new Geropsychiatric Outpatient Program at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood, Michigan. The Therapist provides quality and organized psychotherapy for identified clients and families with special emphasis on treatment and discharge planning needs. The therapist will maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and standards regarding the provision of services and of the implementation of treatment and discharge planning. IN addition, the therapist will provide for referrals and community contacts. Manage caseload documentation. Function as a multidisciplinary team member of the geriatric psych day treatment program.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of counseling techniques and protocols normally acquired through completion of a master’s degree in one of the following areas: industrial/organizational psychology, social work, psychology, community counseling, educational counseling, or professional counseling.

  • One year of clinical experience with older persons and hospital or nursing home experience.

  • Possesses Michigan Professional Counselor (LPC) license, Advanced Practice Social Worker (APSW) or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) License

  • Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) desired.

Hours: Full time; 1.0 FTE or 40 hours per week. Full time benefits package available.

Aspirus Ironwood includes a 25-bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic and a home health agency. Ranked among the top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in the nation by the National Rural Health Association, Grand View's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day. The outpatient clinic has over 50,000 visits annually.
