Our clinics offer full-service veterinary care using state of the art equipment, including ultrasound, high speed dental, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray and cautery. class="ignore-global-css" class="ignore-global-css"The Licensed Veterinary Technician is responsible for providingveterinarians and members of the medical teamwith direct support. Using various technical and nursing skills, vet techs treat outpatient and hospitalized animals while providing support to clients and the community. The vet tech will provide information in a helpful, positive, compassionate manner to clients in order to help them make appropriate decisions for the care of their animals. The ideal candidate is acompetent, dedicated and compassionate individual class="ignore-global-css" class="ignore-global-css" class="ignore-global-css"Key Responsibilities:ul class="ignore-global-css"li class="ignore-global-css"Administer medications and vaccines; draw blood and perform diagnostic tests; take radiographs (X-rays); perform cytology such as ear and skin tests; examine fecal samples for parasites; perform heartworm tests. Assist with microchip placement./lili class="ignore-global-css"Assist veterinarian during surgery; prepare patient; calculate and administer anesthesia; monitor patient vitals before, during and after surgery; log controlled substances; clean afterwards (instruments, room and prep area); complete surgical paperwork./lili class="ignore-global-css"Provide care for hospitalized patients. Check vitals, monitor fluids, place IV catheter, walk and feed animals and clean cages, as needed./lili class="ignore-global-css"Administer anesthesia to dental patients; perform full-mouth X-rays and exams teeth for disease; clean teeth; assist veterinarian with teeth extractions; monitor patientrsquo;s vitals before, during and after the dental procedure(s)./lili class="ignore-global-css"Perform specialized procedures such as ultrasounds and EKGs. Carry out routine tasks, such as nail trims, ear cleaning and baths./lili class="ignore-global-css"Identify supplies to be ordered; restock treatment, surgical and clinic areas./lili class="ignore-global-css"Maintain clean exam rooms; sweep, mop, and disinfect between appointments; follow cleaning protocols to prevent the spread of disease. Launder soiled items./lili class="ignore-global-css"Assist veterinarian with euthanasia./lili class="ignore-global-css"Provide direction to veterinary assistants, as appropriate./li/ul
