Holland Hospital Occupational Therapy Assistant/COTA - Inpatient Behavioral Health in Holland, Michigan
The therapist assistant treats patients under the direction of the licensed therapist and according to the established treatment plan, supervises and delegates tasks to supportive personnel, maintains appropriate records, communicates patient progress to physicians and other health care workers as indicated, meets department productivity expectations, accepts responsibility for personal and professional growth and performs other duties as assigned. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and service appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her area.
Minimum Education/Training: Graduate with Associate's Degree from an Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Registration/Certification or License Required: Current certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Current licensure as Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Michigan. Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider or completed within 60 days of hire.
Preferred Experience: One year experience in applicable professional setting.
Physical Requirements: Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher). Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (i.e. Patient). Occasional reaching overhead, squatting, kneeling. Occasional keyboard use. Frequent sitting, standing, walking. Frequent fine motor activities. Frequent talking, hearing. Continuous twisting, bending, reaching forward.
Other Requirements: Basic computer knowledge. Proficient in English verbal and written skills.
