Holland Hospital Clerical Assistant - Pediatrics & Internal Medicine in Holland, Michigan
The Clerical Assistant answers the phone and directs callers to the appropriate person/department; greets patients; sets appointments for the patients; sorts and sends mail. The individual will also schedules tests and procures referrals as necessary. In addition the role will assist with insurance verification, insurance verification procedures, collection of copays, posts payments and manages medical record files.
Minimum Education/Training: 1-2 years serving as first-line organizational representative. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to read and write consistent with job requirements. General working knowledge of and ability to use office machines, including computers.
Registration/Certification or License Required:
Preferred Education: Associates Degree Medical Assistant.
Preferred Experience: 1-2 years serving as first-line healthcare organizational representative. Managed large number of incoming phone calls.
Physical Requirements: Lift 10 lbs. box overhead. Lift and carry 15 lbs. Push/pull 20 lbs. cart. Occasional reaching, kneeling and squatting. Frequent standing and walking. Frequent twisting, bending. Continuous sitting. Continuous keyboard use. Continuous talking or hearing.
Other Requirements: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to represent organization and create positive first impressions.
