POSITION SUMMARY:
Member of the Patient Care Team responsible for administering quality efficient nursing care, including immunizations and health education to patients of all ages in accordance with established nursing standards to ensure an efficient and safe environment of care.
Education, Training, Licensing and Credentialing
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Active unrestricted State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) or Practical Nurse (LPN) License
Active life support certification
Preferred:
Experience and Skills
Required:
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical acronyms
Effectively present information in small group situations
Knowledge of basic principles of health promotion, prevention and motivation
Demonstrated knowledge of Michigan Nursing Practice Act
Ability to read and comprehend medical instructions, short correspondence and memos
Ability to document, with clarity, all information relevant to a patient's needs
Knowledge of protocols in general and an ability to quickly gain specific knowledge of the Center's current operational protocols
Ability to work cooperatively with community agency personnel to coordinate patient services
Ability to use office equipment including but not limited to computer, fax machines, telephones and copiers
Ability to prioritize and allocate resources
Typing skills
Preferred:
1+ years experience providing patient care in a clinic environment
Experience using eClinical Works (ECW)
Experience taking and recording vital signs (body temperature, pulse rate and blood pressure)
Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
