Ascension Health Research Assistant - Emergency Department in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan

We Are Hiring

Join our Ascension Team as a Research Office Assistant in our ED Department - PRN (Contingent / As Needed). This is a day position that offers flexible scheduling.

Located at Ascension St. John Hospital, Detroit, MI. Generally, M-F 8-4:30, but occasional evenings and weekends.

What You Will Do

Work in a customer service capacity providing administrative and clerical support to patients and customers in a medical setting.

  • Greet patients and visitors, check patients in and out, and obtain necessary documentation. Verify and enter demographic information.

  • Obtain and verify insurance authorizations/precertification. Complete medical record release requests and schedule/confirm patient appointments.

  • Enter, review and submit charges for patient procedures and services daily. Collect co-payments and reconcile all daily reports and deposits for accuracy.

  • Provide general office and clerical support to assigned area.

What You Will Need

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor of science in science or health concentration preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working on clinical research projects

  • Experience with medical record review and data collection
