SUMMARY#160;#160;#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; SUMMARY:#160;Under the direct supervision of a certified Orthotist or Prosthetist assists in the fabrication, repair, and fitting of orthoses or prostheses as prescribed by a physician.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Works independently.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Fabricates assigned casts according to measurements, model specifications and layouts.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Repairs and/or performs maintenance of orthoses or prostheses as delegated.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Assists in measurements of patients by going with Orthotists or Prosthetists to exam rooms, nursing homes, or hospitals to help position patients during the measurement process.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Operates machinery such as drill presses, ovens, cutters, grinders, lathes, and polishers.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Assists Orthotists or Prosthetists for wraps, measurements, or delivery of items.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Exhibits skills in metal shaping, vacuum forming, laminating, trimming, and sewing by using saws, grinders, ovens, chemicals, and cutters to fabricate. Possesses specialized skills unique to prosthetic and orthotic fabrication.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Assists in inventories of supplies and equipment. Dispenses supplies as directed by Orthotist or Prosthetist.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Performs routine cleaning of laboratory and equipment.?#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Maintains patient records; notes repairs completed to orthoses or prostheses.?#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Maintains records for the billing of repairs.#160;#160;#160;#160; ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS):#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * High school graduate or equivalent.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * One year experience as an OP Technician or equivalent field.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Ability to follow detailed directions, use tools such as drill presses, ovens, cutters, grinders, lathes, and polishers. Works well with people.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * Physical Demands:#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * The physical ability to lift and position patients' lower extremities.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * The ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, grasp, reach, and occasionally climb.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * The ability to hear, speak, write, and see (correctable vision).#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * The ability to frequently lift up to 5 pounds, and occasionally lift in excess of 10 pounds.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * The ability to occasionally push, pull, or carry weight anywhere from 1 to 10 pounds.#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; * The ability to exert up to 10-20 pounds of force occasionally, 0-10 pounds of force frequently, and exert up to 5 pounds of force constantly.#160;#160;#160;#160; OTHER PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:#160;#160;#160;#160;#160; *
