Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.

  • Shift differential for working evenings, nights, and weekends

  • Every 3rd weekend rotation – (there may be some instances when team members work Q2 weekends)

  • Additional compensation based on number of clusters supported. Clusters include: Adult Critical Care, Adult Progressive Care, Adult Medical Surgical Care

  • Self-Scheduling

  • Minimum of 40 to 80 hours per two week pay period

  • Acquire other certifications as requied based on clusters supported

Basic Qualifications:

Education - Associate's Degree or equivalent in Nursing Bachelor's Degree in of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 4 years for those who start in this RN role on or after January 1, 2017 Bachelor's Degree in of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 7 years for those who start in this RN role between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2016

Experience - Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program

Registered Nurse (RN) State of Michigan Upon Hire

Basic Life Support (BLS) All unless otherwise noted 90 Days Or

Basic Life Support (BLS) Anesthesia, Surgical Centers, OR, PACU, Intake, CVI, Radiology, Cardiology and Cancer Health 60 Days

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Anesthesia, Surgical Centers and PACU 60 Days

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Meijer Heart Center OR, Radiology, Cardiovascular Non-Invasive BW/BL: Critical Care Units, 6N, 6MHC, 7MHC, EDs, OR Charge Nurses HDVCH: Cath Lab (Invasive Cardiology), Pediatric EP & ED 180 Days

Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) BW/BL: Labor & Delivery, Antepartum HDVCH: NICU 90 Days

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) BW/BL: Emergency Departments HDVCH: Emergency Department 180 Days

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) HDVCH: Dialysis, Surgical Services, 7th Floor, Burn Unit, PICU, Sedation, Cath Lab (Invasive Cardiology), Pediatric EP; Charge RNs on 5th, 6th & 9th Floors 1 Year

Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification BW/BL: Labor & Delivery 1 Year

RN - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ENPC) BW/BL: Emergency Departments HDVCH: Emergency Department 1 Year

RN - Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC) BW/BL: Emergency Departments HDVCH: Emergency Department 1 Year

National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification (NIH) BW/BL: 3H, 4S, NCC, 7S, 1H, SCC Neuro core nurses BW/BL: Emergency Department Charge Nurses (from appointment date) 60 Days

Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification in Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Program BW/BL: 5N, 5S, 5C, Adult BMT Clinic, General Infusion Cancer Health 1 Year

Nursing Administration or Professional (Specialty) Certification Charge Nurses

Association of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nursing (APHON) Chemotherapy/Biotherapy provider course HDVCH: Cancer Hematology, 9th Floor 1 1/2 Yrs

Pain Management Nursing Certification, within 18 months of assuming role BW/BL: Anesthesia Care Nurses 1 1/2 Yrs

Association for Radiologic and Imaging Nursing (ARIN) Radiology 2 Yrs
