As a pharmacy technician based in the emergency department, the team member will work closely with patients and healthcare team members to review, investigate and verify the patient home medication list. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the technician is responsible for clarifying the information through direct communication with pharmacies, patients, and providers and then documenting in the electronic health record. The team member will have direct patient interaction with all patient populations from pediatrics to geriatrics. Pharmacy experience in the retail setting is preferred.
Education - High School Diploma or equivalent
Licenses - Pharmacy Technician Certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or State of Michigan Pharmacy Intern License
Pharmacy Technician Michigan Licensure (excludes limited license and temporary license)
Education - Associate's Degree or equivalent in health care or related field
Experience - 2 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in pharmacy
