Position Purpose:

Provides clerical and receptionist services to the nursing units of the Care and Rehabilitation Center (CRC).

Exhibits the mission, purpose, and values of Glacier Hills in word and action while performing all functions of the position. Exhibits the philosophy of the CRC in word and actions. Serves as a positive ambassador of Glacier Hills both within and outside the facility.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior

Job Description Details:

Critical (highest priority; absolutely key to success on the job)

  • Schedules appointments, labs, x-rays, etc. considering residents’ needs, economy, and timeliness of scheduling.

  • Records pertinent data as directed. Assures completeness of records, discharge charts, forms, permits, etc. under the direction of licensed staff, Medical Records Coordinator and/or Administrative Assistant; maintains charts appropriately.

  • Keeps confidentiality of resident’s records, reports, and discussions.

Important (secondary to critical responsibilities; contributes significantly to success on the job)

  • Assist with provisions needed for admission and discharge of a resident.

  • Relieves Receptionist as necessary and directed by the CRC Administrative Assistant.

  • Attends and participates in scheduled staff meetings, in-services, programs, or committees as directed.

  • Secures necessary supplies and equipment for the nursing unit.

  • Prepares printed materials and monitors efficient utilization of supplies and equipment.

Standard (general functions of the job)

  • Communicates regularly with immediate supervisor to keep him/her up to date on residents, families, physicians and staffs changing needs.

  • Shows proper guest relations. When necessary, can assist in transport of residents, answer call lights, and other indirect resident contact activities as needed.

  • Performs miscellaneous functions to ensure the smooth operation of administrative matters of the units (e.g. replacement of I.D. bracelets, lab work, auditing, delivery and posting of information, etc.).

  • Adhere to the facility’s policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulations which pertain to the facility.

  • Establish and maintain courteous relationships with residents, their significant others, visitors, physicians and facility staff.


High School Diploma or G.E.D.


Must have acquired some training in a medical field or have 2 or 3 years experience in a medical setting.
