Prime Healthcare Graduate Medical Education Specialist - GCH Med PostGrad in Garden City, Michigan
The Department of Medical Education is looking for a Graduate Medical Education Specialist to help with the accreditation and daily GME operations of all residency programs. This position needs quick problem-solving skills, initiative and excellent judgement. The GME specialist will work in close collaboration with the DIO of the department, Program Directors, Residency coordinators, Med Ed staff, Residents and Chief residents and ACGME.
Specific Duties:
Being a contact for the House Officers;
Assist DIO with external review with ACGME accreditation;
Maintain compliance with all GME requirements;
Keep track of ERAS;
Compile IRIS reports;
Maintain accurate and detailed files and trainee information to meet ACGME Residency Review Committee and Office of Graduate Medical Education requirements;
Monitor status of certifications and licenses;
Work with the Residency Coordinators to plan\implement residency orientations and graduations;
Responsible for administering and coordinating learning activities for residents;
Monitor and distribute ACGME milestones at the end of the semi-annual review process;
Summarize and enter ACGME milestones in MedHub and/or WebADS system bi-annually
Prepare GMEC meetings (agendas, minutes and distribute information);
Maintain policies and procedures for Residency program;
Maintain CME applications compliance;
Maintain CLER requirements and prepare for CLER visit;
Plan and implement semi-annual review process;
Oversee resident’s participation at several hospital committees;
Keep track of resident’s log hours and duty hours, monthly reports;
Monitor resident’s vacations
Oversee/implement evaluations: faculty/residents/peer/self/nursing, patients, rotation, program;
Communicate with other institutions on activities of the training programs;
Apply for grants to help fund resident travel
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advance skills in MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, New Innovations
Excellent knowledge of ACGME requirements/regulations/timelines for accreditation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and good analytical skills.
C-TAGME Certified
Experience with Residency Management system.
Organizational skills and expectations of high quality results.
Excellent skills on work prioritization and time management.
Desired Qualifications:
3-5 years of administrative experience in GME
Master’s degree in health related field
