McLaren Health Care Educator Patient Care Svc CL in Flint, Michigan


Provides clinical education and evaluation to

patient care staff, and assists in the development, revision and implementation

of policies, procedures and protocols associated with the clinic practice and

serves as a resource and consultant to staff in caring for clinic patients.

Collaborates with medical practitioners to incorporate nursing processes into

the plan of care for clinic patients, ensuring adherence to Joint Commission

standards and all related policies, procedures, and guidelines. Serves as a

resource to MMG staff in providing excellent customer service and competent

care for patients.

  • Provides educational programs to care providers to enhance patient care within established clinical practice &/or protocols.

  • Develops, coordinates and implements educational programs. Works collaboratively with the various education departments within the clinic and corporation.

  • Organizes and participates in interdisciplinary educational programs for health care professionals.

  • Evaluates quality of practice in relation to established professional and legal standards.

  • Develops, implements and evaluates a learning plan and timeline within context of project plan.

  • Assists caregivers with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care.

  • Assists to develop/update clinical procedures, protocols, policies and documentation guidelines.

  • Demonstrates responsibility for the teaching of personnel in new techniques and changes in policies and procedures.

  • Collaborates with medical providers and patient care staff, in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula.

  • Evaluates outcomes of educational endeavors.

  • Initiates clinical skills development programs within the parameters of established clinical models; monitors trends and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and documentation process required for validation of staff competencies.

  • Collaborates with members of the health care team to plan, implement and educate staff about changes in practice to improve quality of care.

  • Consults with and serves as a clinical resource for clinical staff to ensure quality patient care, incorporating evidenced-based research and national standards.

  • Utilizes adult learning principles in educational offerings for staff.

  • Plans and/or implements staff development/in-service education programs, which meet the needs of the staff and the goals of the organization.

  • Educates staff in the use of new equipment, supplies and instruments; coordinates in-service training and ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

  • Acts as a resource or consultant to individuals, groups and departments institution-wide and seeks consultation with outside experts to achieve patient safety goals.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

  • Performs other related duties as required and directed



  • Licensedas a registered nurse in the state of Michigan

  • Experiencein the ambulatory environment as an RN

  • Oneyear of experience with education as a preceptor, instructor, educator

  • Validstate drivers’ license in order to travel throughout assigned MMG regions


  • Bachelor'sdegree in nursing.

  • Previoussupervisory experience.

  • AmericanRed Cross BLS certification.
