Henry Ford Health System Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) - Contingent - Days - Kingswood - Psych in Ferndale, Michigan
Plans, organizes and conducts a therapeutic recreation program through the application of goal orientated, purposeful activity in the assessment and treatment of individual with psychological, physical and developmental disabilities. The ages of these individual will include adults (18 and older), adolescents (13-17 years old), and children (5-12 years old).
Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation. One to two (1-2) years of experience in a psychiatric facility preferred.
Certified by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Subject to physical injury from patients who act out in the work area. Work includes sitting, stooping, bending, lifting, and walking. Handles equipment used by patients which are potentially dangerous if not closely supervised. Physical intervention crisis skills, good motor coordination, manual dexterity and visual/perceptive abilities required.Overview Under the leadership of President and CEO Wright L.
