Position Summary

A Postdoctoral or Research Associate position is available in Margaret Petroff's lab, which is part of the dynamic and growing NIH-funded Reproductive and Developmental Sciences Training Program, the Departments of Pathobiology & Diagnostic Investigation and Microbiology & Molecular Genetics, and the Cell & Molecular Biology Graduate Programs at Michigan State University. Research in the Petroff lab investigates the relationship between the immune and reproductive systems, with questions centering on the impact of the immune system on the female reproductive tract and fetal-placental unit. Experimental models include human primary cells and tissues as well as knockout and transgenic animals. This senior-level scientist will lead a project using one of these models, depending on background and interests. Candidates should have a PhD in physiology, immunology or a related field, a solid foundation in immunology, cellular, and molecular techniques, and should be skilled in computational data analysis and visualization. Strong work ethic and initiative, good writing and communication skills, enthusiasm and the ability to drive a project forward are essential.

Required Degree

Doctorate -physiology, immunology

Minimum Requirements

PhD in molecular & Cell biology, reproductive biology, or immunology; experience in cell culture, mouse models for research, microscopy, and the data analysis.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in isolation, analysis, and experimentation in extracellular vesicles. Experience in animal models of pregnancy.
