Position Summary

The Psychology Department at Michigan State University is hiring a Researcher Associate (postdoctoral) to lead and support research and evaluation projects related to gender-based violence. This is a 1-year position, beginning August 2018.

Typical duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Designing research/evaluation plans,

  • Coordinating the implementation of research/evaluation studies

  • Supporting collaboration and coordination of staff and student volunteers

  • Providing consultation in project design, instrument and procedure development, IRB applications, analysis and interpretation, report development, and dissemination to other Research Consortium on Gender-based Violence projects.

Required Degree


Minimum Requirements

Minimum education requirement is a Ph.D. in human development/family studies, community psychology, public policy, criminal justice, social work or other relevant social science discipline.

  • Must have a minimum of three years of experience in evaluation and/or research, including methodological design, project management, data collection, and analysis

  • Must have an extremely flexible schedule and experience training, and supervising others.

  • Must have experience working with diverse populations

  • Must be able to demonstrate multicultural competency

Desired Qualifications

Working knowledge of domestic violence/sexual assault agencies and experience conducting evaluations in similar settings.
