Position Summary
There is postdoctoral position available in the Walker Lab at the MSU-DOE Plant Research Laboratory at Michigan State University. This postdoc is part of ongoing efforts to discover the critical role of photorespiration in plant energy use and central metabolism. This position will focus specifically on how photorespiration impacts, regulates and is regulated by upstream energy-harvesting processes including linear and cyclic electron flux. The ideal candidate should have experience using spectroscopy to probe the biophysics of photosynthesis and be willing to use biochemical approaches to probe enzyme regulation. The positions are available immediately and for one year from date of hire with the possibility of extension.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field
Minimum Requirements
Experience in spectroscopy, biophysics and plant gas exchange.
Desired Qualifications
Biochemical approaches to probe enzyme regulation and post-translational modification, coding in python or R
