What You Will Do

As an associate with Ascension Michigan, you will have the opportunity to manage the daily activities of Advanced Practice Providers.


  • Develops, submits, and administers capital, operations and manpower budgets according to financial and organization guidelines.

  • Develops, communicates and administers departmental policies and procedures. Prepares and maintains procedural manuals for department staff.

  • Works collaboratively with department leaders to ensure that safe, quality care is provided to the patients served. Assures department operations are in compliance with standards and other applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies.

  • Conducts hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

  • Participates as team member and leader in quality improvement activities related to medical staff and medical staff services, including process improvement, development of policies and procedures, and information exchange.

What You Will Need


  • Required Credential(s):

  • One or more of the following:

  • Clinical Nurse Specialist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. State Licensed Registered Nurse required as well. Board certification required. Verified by local Credentialing office.

  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. State Licensed Registered Nurse required as well. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

  • Preferred Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).


  • Diploma

  • Education appropriate for licensure held: Master's degree of Nursing, Master's or Doctorate of Nursing Anesthesia Practice, Doctorate of Science in Nursing, Master's or Doctorate of Science in Nursing Midwifery, Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required.

Work Experience:

  • 1 - 2 years progessive leadership expereince
