Henry Ford Health System Leader/Nurse Practitioner/Mainly in Detroit/Days/20Hours in Detroit, Michigan

This part-time Leader Nurse Practitioner position will support the Nurse Practitioners who work at the 9 School Based Health Clinics in Detroit as well as the single clinics located in the cities of Warren, Mt. Clemens, and Highland Park. The Leader will act as a mentor for the NP's as well as a support person for the clinical staff.The schedule will be flexible but must be worked weekdays within normal school hours. There will be an occasional evening or Saturday event that will be required as well Functions as a team leader, acting as a resource to support the clinical practiceProvides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staffTakes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment programsPerforms nursing functions independentlyWorks in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient mannerSpecific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience

Requires Master's Degree in NursingFive (5) years of NP experience to become a LeaderLicensure as a Certified Nurse PractitionerLicensure as a Registered NurseBCLS certificationCertification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field, National Certification Corporation (NCC), National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates, and/or Certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)A familiarity with Henry Ford Health System is preferredA self-starter who is organized and focused is highly preferredPrevious leadership experience is preferredA passion for children, teens, and the under-served population is highly preferred
