Tenet Physician Resources has an immediate opportunity for a Chief Operating Officer for our Detroit Medical Center Medical Group.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO), Tenet Physician Resources (TPR) reports directly to the Senior Director, Physician Operations. The role requires extensive knowledge of physician compensation models, payer reimbursement models (e.g. FFS, capitation), physician affiliation models (e.g. IPAs), and other alignment models, to include but not limited to Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), Clinical Integration Organizations (CIOs), and Management Services Organizations (MSOs). This person will have ownership of Revenue Cycle Management for our 280 members and growing provider group. This person will play a key role in developing and implementing the overall multi-faceted physician integration strategy in the Detroit market. This role requires heavy and regular interaction with the hospital leadership team, the TPR market operations leadership, TPR leadership based in the Dallas home office, Tenet legal, managed care, and acquisitions team.

Will require extensive travel within Detroit.
An undergraduate degree is required and a graduate degree, ideally in Marketing or Business Development, is desirable.
Requires a minimum of ten (10) years’ healthcare management level experience in physician practice management, development, acquisitions, recruitment, hospital/physician business development, or related executive area.
Knowledge of healthcare organization and administration and of standards and laws applicable to physician practices.
Knowledge of health care, strategic and financial planning; extensive experience in financial analysis and modeling, to include pro forma development and analysis.
Extensive knowledge of payer relations, reimbursement models, physician compensation models, and alignment models;
Proven financial management skills, capable of reaching closure and timely accomplishment of objectives with a focus on P & L.
Strong project management skills, provider engagement, team building, motivational, and communication skills.
Requires excellent interpersonal skills; a dedicated listener, comfortable in a variety of settings dealing with diverse constituencies; a broad thinker. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
