Henry Ford Health System Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant/Provider Coverage/Macomb/Midnights/Contingent in Clinton Township, Michigan

  • Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff

  • Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment programs

  • Performs nursing functions independently. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner

  • Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience

  • Requires Master's Degree in Nursing; licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse; -OR- Requires a Master's from an AMA accredited Physician Assistant program; licensure as a Physician Assistant

  • BCLS Certification

  • Certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field; National Certification Corporation (NCC); National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates; and/or certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) -OR- Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan; Continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA)

  • A minimum of 1 year working as an APP in Internal Medicine is preferred
